Santa Paula Water Recycling Facility

The Santa Paula Water Recycling Facility is located at 921 Calpipe Road in Santa Paula.  The facility is designed to treat 3.4 million gallons a day (MGD) of conventional sewage wastewater from the area and is operated for the City by the Ventura Regional Sanitation District. (VRSD).  The design incorporates two surge basins allowing for 1.05 million gallons of wastewater equalization storage, and a future expansion capacity of 4.2 MGD.  The facility utilizes the activated sludge treatment process to treat the sewage wastewater.  The membrane bio-reactor (MBR) technology is used to achieve very low level discharge requirements combined with biological nitrogen nutrient removal with the membrane separation and Ultraviolet (UV) disinfection.  The facility also maintains Class B aerobic sludge digestion and solids dewatering with the final dewatered sludge being transported off site for disposal.
